In line with ICESCO's commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships and supporting community initiatives with sustainable impact, the ICESCO Regional Office in Sharjah participated in the visit of a delegation of Arab Scout leaders to the General Command Headquarters of Sharjah Police in the United Arab Emirates on 23 January 2025, attended by representatives of ICESCO alongside various official and community entities. This participation forms part of ongoing efforts to support youth and volunteer work and to reinforce the role of scouting in instilling the values of cooperation, belonging, and community responsibility.
The visit aimed to strengthen institutional cooperation between ICESCO and national entities, and to exchange expertise in the fields of community work and youth development, alongside reviewing best practices in supporting youth initiatives and enhancing community security. The visit also served as an important platform to highlight ICESCO's role in supporting programs and initiatives targeting young people, and in promoting their active participation in building sustainable societies grounded in knowledge and human values.
The event included field tours and interactive meetings that fostered direct engagement among participants and facilitated discussions on ways to develop youth programs and scouting activities, contributing to the empowerment of younger generations and the strengthening of their leadership capabilities. The participation also underscored the importance of building sustainable strategic partnerships between international organizations and national institutions, supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing integration across various sectors.
