In line with ICESCO’s efforts to enhance its cultural presence and promote a culture of reading and knowledge within societies, the ICESCO Regional Office in Sharjah participated in the accompanying exhibition of the Mleiha Reading Festival, “Mleiha Reads 2,” held on 20 February 2025 in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, with the participation of a distinguished group of cultural institutions, publishing houses, and knowledge-based initiatives. This participation aligns with ICESCO’s ongoing efforts to promote a culture of reading and strengthen cultural and intellectual awareness, thereby contributing to the development of knowledge-based societies.
The exhibition served as an interactive cultural platform to highlight ICESCO’s role in supporting knowledge initiatives, showcasing a selection of the Organization’s publications in the fields of culture, education, and the humanities. This reflects its mission to foster intellectual production and promote knowledge exchange among peoples. The participation also contributed to strengthening engagement with various segments of society, particularly children and youth, through cultural and awareness-raising activities aimed at developing reading skills and nurturing a love of knowledge.
The event witnessed strong public attendance, offering visitors the opportunity to explore the latest cultural publications and engage with accompanying programs and activities.
